McGrann welcomes response from DfI on suicide prevention measures for North Belfast

20 September, 2019

Speaking after meeting the Department of Infrastructure on the need for more suicide prevention measures in North Belfast, Councillor Taylor McGrann said: “I welcome the positive response from the Department of Infrastructure on increasing suicide prevention measures at the Arthur Bridge. “I have been working with young people in Bawnmore, Longlands and Whitewell areas who have asked Sinn Féin to support their campaign. “We recently brought voluntary services to meet young people on initiatives to improve their mental health and wellbeing.“We are losing too many of our family members and neighbours through suicide and we need to assure them that they are not alone and that help is out there. “In the coming weeks, we will meet with other statutory bodies to look at locations in North Belfast for additional preventative measures.”
