Adams disappointed at failure to locate remains of Columba McVeigh

23 September, 2019 - by Gerry Adams

Commenting on the outcome of the latest search for the remains of Columba McVeigh, Gerry Adams said:

“I am disappointed by the failure to locate the remains of Columba McVeigh.

“Since 1999 thirteen of the 16 people shot and secretly buried by the IRA 40 years ago have been recovered.

“I want to commend the work of the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains (ICLVR) and all of those who have assisted them.

“I would appeal to anyone who might have any information relating to the remaining cases to bring that forward. This includes anyone who was previously in touch with the Commission.

“Contact is on the basis of absolute confidentiality.”
