Everyone has role to play in promoting anti-bullying culture - Kelly
Sinn Féin MLA Catherine Kelly has said everyone has a role to play in promoting an anti-bullying culture.
Speaking on anti-bullying week the party’s spokesperson for children and young people said:
“Bullying is a complex issue with no single, easy solution however, we all have a part to play in creating a society, and an education system, in which bullying is always challenged, and dealt with effectively, as soon as it rears its head.
“The theme of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week is ‘Change Starts With Us’. It is about working together to find a solution whether it is speaking to someone we trust when bullying happens or calling it out if we suspect it is happening.
“Anti-Bullying Week is an excellent opportunity to remind the whole school community of their anti-bullying policy and practice.
“With the ever emerging issue of cyber bullying, I would remind schools of the importance of continuously updating their policies, ensuring that pupils and their parents are actively involved.”
