Sinn Féin delegation to travel to Brussels to discuss anti-Sellafield initiative with MEPs
A Sinn Féin delegation including Arthur Morgan TD, Caitriona Ruane MLA and Dundalk Councillor Tomas Sharkey will tomorrow travel to Brussels to hold discussions with a number of MEPs regarding the Sellafield nuclear power plant and the wider issue of nuclear power.
The delegation hopes to use the visit to enlist support from the European Parliament to close the discredited Sellafield facility.
They will meet with Finnish, Swedish, Dutch, Welsh and Irish MEPs representing three different European groupings for discussions on the discredited nuclear facility in the North West of England.
The delegation will be welcomed to Brussels by party colleague Mary Lou McDonald MEP. ENDS
