DEL Budget Shambles could lead to BIFHE loss of to jobs and courses
Sinn Féin Education Spokesperson Michael Ferguson said that the Department of Employment and Learning's budget allocation mistake on top of the Department of Education's recent budget allocation mistake to schools is endemic of the mismanagement of direct rule and reinforces the need for a local accountable administration.
Commenting upon the blunder which could result in the loss of jobs, services and courses Michael Ferguson said,
" This latest financial DEL shambles over budget on the back of similar mistakes made by the Department of Education is indicative of direct rule management, poor and unprofessional.
There should be absolutely no loss of jobs, services or courses as a result of the Department's bad practice.
We have been lectured by Angela Smith, Peter Hain and Jeff Rooker about finances and overspend since they came and it is now time they went.
It is time the Assembly was reinstated because the cost of Direct Rule is too high". ENDS
