Cork County Council to debate incinerator motion
Cork County Council will today debate a motion calling on the government to oppose the planned incinerator in Cork Harbour. The motion is proposed by Sinn Féin Councillor Martin Hallinan.
The motion reads as:
"In the light of the recent disturbing report by the Environmental Protection Agency showing the dramatically high level of dioxins in the Cork Harbour area, Cork County Council again reiterates its opposition to the citing of toxic incinerator at Ringaskiddy and calls on the Minister of the Environment Mr Dick Roche, to change his departments policy on incineration and oppose its construction in Ringaskiddy."
