Rogan welcomes £400,00 carriageway resurfacing scheme for Dublin Road, Castlewellan
Sinn Féin MLA Emma Rogan has welcomed the £400,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme at Dublin Road, Castlewellan.
The South Down MLA said:
“I welcome the announcement of that this resurfacing scheme will commence within the next week (Monday 18 Jan 2021).
“The improvement work will extend a distance of approximately 830 metres from Market Road junction to O’Rourke’s yard and will include the resurfacing of the carriageway and upgrading of road drainage.
“The scheme will be of great benefit to the local community and will help improve transport connections for people, goods and services.
“During the resurfacing it will be necessary to initially operate a daily lane closure and 40mph speed limit from 9.00am to 5.00pm and full road closures will be required during a later stage of the works.
“Motorists should be aware that delays may occur and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
“Sinn Féin will continue to lobby for increased investment in the infrastructure of our roads to maximise road safety and to help grow the local economy.”
