Sinn Féin is calling on Dubliners to come out in support of Temple Street Hospital

11 February, 2006

Sinn Féin Dublin City Councillors Christy Burke and Nicky Kehoe are calling on people across Dublin to come out and support a protest today, Saturday11th February, at 1pm in support of the retention of specialist children's surgery in both Temple Street Children's Hospital and Crumlin Children's Hospital.    The demonstration will be held outside the Mater Hospital at Eccles Street at 1.00pm.

Speaking today Dublin City Centre this morning Sinn Féin Councillor Christy Burke said:

"I want to call upon the ordinary people of Dublin to come out today and show their support for the retention of children's services at both Temple Street Children's Hospital and Crumlin Children's Hospital.

"There is considerable anger in the community that the promised re-development of Temple Street has not begun. There are growing concerns that the decision has already been made to relocate these essential services away from Temple Street leaving families with lengthy journeys to and from any new hospital."ENDS
