Third neurology recall ‘deeply concerning’ – Gildernew

Speaking after the Health Minister’s statement on the ongoing neurology scandal, Sinn Féin health spokesperson Colm Gildernew MLA said:

“It’s deeply concerning that a third group of neurology patients are now part of the inquiry and that this will require another recall.

“The Health Minister’s statement today confirmed that a staggering 20% of patients were misdiagnosed.

“Health service patients and the public are entitled to expect accountability and transparency.

“The needs of the patients at the centre of this neurology recall must be addressed by the Department of Health.

“I would urge any patients impacted by today’s announcement to call the helpline on 0800 980 1100.”
