Visiting restrictions at Louth County Hospital unfortunate but necessary

20 April, 2006

Commenting on the visiting restrictions in place at Louth County Hospital to contain the winter vomiting virus, Sinn Féin TD for Louth Arthur Morgan said:

"While I understand that the visitor restrictions in place at Louth County Hospital will have a devastating effect on the families and loved ones of patients at the hospital it is important that the HSE restrictions are complied with in the interest of hygiene and of the health of the community.

"These restrictions will no doubt also effect the staff of the hospital who are already working under immense pressure due to a shortage of staff. I would ask that families and friends of patients at the hospital be cooperative with staff and hopefully this crisis will be over quite quickly." ENDS
