Gerry Adams meets with families of those killed in the Stardust disaster during visit to Dublin North East
Sinn Féin Councillor Larry O'Toole took party President Gerry Adams MP to meet members of the relatives committee campaigning for justice for the victims of the Stardust disaster. Among those they met where Christine Keegan who lost two daughters in the disaster, the Dunne family who lost their son and Linda Hosey who survived the disaster.
The relatives committee briefed Gerry and Larry on their efforts to secure a proper public inquiry into the Stardust disaster and told the Sinn Féin leaders that they will be presenting a new dossier to the Taoiseach in the near future setting out new information and evidence which they believe significantly enhances their call for a public inquiry.
Gerry Adams and Larry O'Toole expressed Sinn Féin‚s continued support for the families and pledged to do all the party can to highlight their campaign. Following the meeting they visited the site of the Stardust disaster to pay their respects.
Mr Adams said:
"The families are to be commended for their steadfastness in pursuit of justice. There are many questions still unanswered about the events of that terrible night. The families have the right to the truth." ENDS
