Dialogue needed to end train strike - Crowe

16 May, 2006

Sinn Féin Transport spokesperson Seán Crowe TD has called on all sides involved in the rail dispute to enter into immediate dialogue in the interest of getting the service up and running again.

Speaking today Deputy Crowe said, “There is clearly a communications problem between the management at Iarnród Eireann and the staff.  Historically this has always been a problem and it needs to end.  It is obvious that a new approach is needed from senior management and in particular the Human Resources department of this company.

“In the interests of the traveling public and of the workers rights I am calling on all sides involved in this dispute to come together and enter into dialogue to find a solution and to get the service up and running again.” ENDS
