Sinn Féin meet with Loughs Agency
A Sinn Fein delegation led by All-Ireland spokesperson, Barry McElduff, today met with senior officials from the Loughs Agency, part of the Foyle Carlingford Irish Lights Commission, one of the All-Ireland Implementation bodies set up under the Good Friday Agreement.
McElduff was accompanied by Louth TD Arthur Morgan, Derry MLA and Sinn Féin Ard Runai Mitchel McLaughlin, political advisor Joe Doherty, and Sean Oliver, Sinn Fein's All Ireland co-ordinator.
Speaking after the meeting, McElduff said,
"This was the first of a series of meetings organised by Sinn Fein, with each of the All-Ireland Implementation bodies. They are an important part of the all-Ireland structures of the Good FridayAgreement, and we will be discussing issues of mutual interest or concern with the Chief Executives and senior managers of each of the six bodies, as well as Tourism Ireland, over the next few weeks.
"The Strand Two, or All-Ireland, elements of the Good Friday Agreement must be build upon and expanded, as the logic for island-wide cooperation and integration in a whole range of fields is compelling, and clear to everyone" ENDS
