Press Notice: Crowe to expose delays for south Dublin families if Tallaght Hospital downgraded.
As part of Sinn Féin’s ongoing health campaign, Dublin South-West TD Seán Crowe, joined by local councillors and residents, will tomorrow (Tuesday) highlight the difficulties caused by the proposed down-grading of children’s medical facilities at Tallaght Hospital. They will time separate journeys from Tallaght Hospital to the Mater Hospital by LUAS, bus and car to demonstrate the problems that will result for south Dublin families if vital medical services are taken out of Tallaght Hospital.
Sinn Féin TD Seán Crowe, accompanied by local woman Teresa Ross whose son’s life was saved by the proximity of Tallaght Hospital to her home when he was suffering from meningitis, will take the LUAS red-line into the city centre and then travel to the Mater.
Tallaght Central councillor Mark Daly will drive directly from the hospital to the Mater by car.
Tallaght South councillor Cathal King will take the bus into the city centre and then travel on to the Mater.
They will all start from the entrance to Tallaght Hospital at 9.30amtomorrow morning (Tuesday).
There will be a doorstep at the entrance to the Mater Hospital on the North Circular Roadfollowing their arrival at 10.45am.
