O'Toole calls for responsible celebrations and proper treatment of fire brigade
Sinn Féin Councillor and vice chairperson of the Dublin Joint Policing Committee Larry O'Toole has called for responsible Halloween celebrations and for people to treat the Fire Brigade and other emergency services with respect. Councillor O'Toole was speaking today as the fire services prepared for the annual festivities and the mayhem that usually accompanies them.
He said, "This time of the year is a particularly busy time of the year for the fire brigade with hundreds of bonfires traditionally lit throughout the capital. However, the pressure that the fire brigade and the other emergency services have to cope with at Halloween is very often added to by mistreatment from members of the public. This is absolutely unacceptable.
"I am calling on people to celebrate Halloween responsibly and to treat the fire brigade and other emergency services with the respect they deserve at this busy time of the year." ENDS
