Sinn Féin leaders have been involved in serious and detailed discussions with the British government
A Sinn Féin spokesperson tonight confirmed that 'serious and detailed discussions' having been going on in London for the last two days between Sinn Féin and the British Government. The Sinn Féin delegation included party President Gerry Adams, Chief Negotiator Martin McGuinness and Ard Chomhairle member Gerry Kelly.
Sinn Féin's objective has been to ensure that the timetable set out by the British and Irish governments in their St. Andrews proposals is kept to. Specifically this includes the Assembly meeting on November 24th where Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness can be put forward by their parties as well as the convening of meetings of the Programme for Government Committee.
