Assembly to debate proposed cuts to Fire Service Cover
Sinn Féin North Antrim MLA Philip McGuigan will lead a key debate on the future
provision of fire service cover in the Assembly tomorrow, Monday 11th
Speaking ahead of the debate Mr McGuigan said:
"There is real concern that proposals to cut fire service cover at 12 sites across the North will mean that areas will be left vulnerable and lives will be put at risk.
"The bottom line is that no matter where people live they have a right to equal access to essential services. This means that present standards should be maintained and that the safety of our citizens must be paramount over any other consideration.
"There are also very serious concerns that these proposed cuts will also put the lives of firemen and women in danger." ENDS

over any other consideration.
