Ferris extends sympathy to families of missing fishermen

12 January, 2007

The Sinn Féin spokesperson on Fisheries, Martin Ferris TD, has extended his deepest sympathies to the families of the fishermen missing off the south east coast. He also expressed his hope that the ongoing search will find some trace of the Pere Charles of Dunmore East and the Honeydew II of Kinsale.

The Kerry North TD said: "Every fishing community in Ireland is united in sympathy and solidarity with the families and friends of the missing fishermen. It is once again a reminder of the huge risks that fishermen undergo in an industry in which it is increasingly difficult to make a living. We all hope that the ongoing searches will be successful."
