Limerick East Sinn Féin launch local election website
Limerick East's Election campaign took another step forward today as Sinn Fein launched their Limerick East election 2007 website. The website- www.mauricequinlivan.ie - contains a wealth of information on the work the party has been carrying out on local issues in the constituency.
"This website will be more than just a source of information on our local campaign. We are hoping that it will also open another means of dialogue between our party and the local electorate‰ says Limerick East party candidate Maurice Quinlivan. "I would welcome feedback through the site email [email protected] with regard to any issues of concern to the local electorate."
The site contains all press releases released on local issues by Mr Quinlivan over the last year as well as information on key local campaigns such as Housing Estate renewal, tackling crime, opposing the continued development of a two-tier health service and the development of decent local public transport options.
"The site contains a recent profile of Quinlivan published in An Phoblacht in which he talks about his Limerick roots and the Republican tradition in his family which goes back to the war of independence.
"It also contains details of Sinn Fein's national policies and links to the national party website. It is hoped that the site will develop over time.
"The site will be updated regularly to ensure that all visitors are kept fully up to date with our campaign for change in Limerick East. We are the only party offering an alternative to the conservative consensus of the establishment parties. Of course we are also Ireland's only 32 county political party.
"I'm hoping this website will make a genuine contribution to political debate in the Limerick East constituency as well as illuminating the policies and principles on which we will be fighting the upcoming campaign" ENDS
