‘Lets Make History’ - South Antrim - Lagan Valley

25 February, 2007

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams MP will join the campaign trail this Sunday in Lagan Valley with Paul Butler and Mitchel McLaughlin in South Antrim. Voters in these constituencies can make history on March 7th by electing Sinn Féin Assembly members for the first time.

Speaking today in advance of the tour Gerry Adams said:

"Lagan Valley and South Antrim are two constituencies which have the opportunity to elect a Sinn Féin Assembly member for the first time. Paul Butler in Lagan Valley and Mitchel McLaughlin in South Antrim can with the help of the electorate in these areas make history.

"I will be joining both campaigns on Sunday. In the last election we made a breakthrough in North Antrim and it is our hope to replicate that success this time around in these two constituencies. There is a real sense that we are very close to a major breakthrough in these areas. We have two experienced candidates and two strong constituency teams who are focused on delivering in these areas."
