Sinn Féin, South Antrim MLA, Mitchel McLaughlin has expressed his gratitude and thanks to the voters of South Antrim who overwhelmingly returned him to the Assembly to represent their interests.

"I wish to record my sincere thanks to all of those individual voters, supporters and election workers who put their faith in me to represent your interests in the new Assembly. I pledge to represent the interests of all the people of South Antrim regardless of political or other allegiances

"I can assure you that I will do all in my power to address the issues that the people of South Antrim identified as priorities for them. During the campaign I met with groups and individuals representing business, community, social and economic issues and I intend to return to those issues in the coming weeks and months to devise a plan along with the interested parties for tackling and resolving them.

"I look forward to working in co-operation with all groups and individuals who have the best interests of South Antrim as their priority." ENDS
