Sinn Féin to hold day of action against government hospital co-location policy
Sinn Féin will tomorrow (Saturday 31st) hold a day of action against the government's hospital co-location policy. Dozens of events will take place in counties across Ireland - protests, information distribution, street theatre and much more.
Tomorrow’s events will begin at 10am at the GPO on O'Connell Street in Dublin and will be attended by Mary Lou McDonald MEP, Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD and Councllor Daithí Doolan.
Among the activities taking place are:
Kerry - Leaflet distribution in the main towns and a white line picket
Cork - A picket & leaflet
distribution - Cork University Hospital/Wilton Shopping Centre
Mayo - Protest at Castlebar Hospital.
Donegal - Leafleting and protest at Letterkenny Hospital
Monaghan – protest 12noon at courthouse in Monaghan Town
Louth - public meeting in Dundalk Town Hall on Friday night
Meath – Publicity around Navan Hospital – events in Kells, Castlepollard and Delvin
Crumlin Children's Hospital from 12pm
James Connolly Hospital from 11am (proposed co-location site)
Tallaght Hospital from 11.30am (proposed co-location site)
Loughlinstown Hospital from 2.30pm
Donaghmede Shopping Centre from 1pm (Beaumont Hospital proposed co-location site)
Events took place in Wexford and Limerick during the week.
