Gildernew confident of Sinn Féin success in Donegal South West
Sinn Féin Six County Agriculture Minister designate Michelle Gildernew MP is in Donegal this afternoon canvassing with Donegal South West general election candidate Pearse Doherty, Sinn Féin’s Údarás na Gealtachta representative Gráinne Mhic Géidigh and North Belfast MLA Carál Ní Chuilín.
Speaking from Donegal Ms. Gildernew said, “Sinn Féin’s election campaign is now in full motion and we are set to make significant gains throughout the Twenty-Six Counties. Having enjoyed great success in the recent assembly elections and as we are about to enter into a new power sharing Government with the DUP we are now concentrating our efforts on the election in the south.
“From speaking to people in this constituency it is clear that the provision of public services such as housing, healthcare and transport is the most pressing issue for the electorate. We are getting a great response on the doors to our policy proposals and I am quite confident that Pearse Doherty can take a seat here in Donegal South West. As the only all Irelandparty we are ready for and preparing to be in Government north and south.” ENDS
