First Ever 6 County Irish language Careers Fair
Sinn Féin East Derry MLA Francie Brolly has wholeheartedly welcomed the first ever Irish language careers fair in the six counties. The careers fair in Beechmount Leisure Centre today, May 3rd, at 11-2pm will host over 45 businesses, colleges and institutions from Ireland and beyond.
Mr Brolly said:
"I think this careers fair in Irish is a fantastic outlet for our Irish speaking youth and I am impressed that over 45 organisations such as the European Commission offices, NIFTC, GAA, radio stations and print media outlets have made themselves available.' commented Mr Brolly.
"The Irish language holds many opportunities for all and this careers fair is testament to that. The Irish language now provides employment in every sector rather than exclusively towards the education sector. This is clearly a sign of Irish in action, working successfully and an example that an Irish language Act is needed more than ever to protect the rights of this thriving community. As a member of the new Culture Arts and Leisure committee in Stormont I wish Forbairt Feirste, Comhairle na Gaelscoilaíochta and BIFHE every success." ENDS
