de Brún to attend 2007 Top Businesses as Gaeilge Awards ceremony
Sinn Féin MEP Bairbre de Brún will make a presentation at the 2007 TOP 50 Business as Gaeilge Awards today, Friday 1st June, in the Four Seasons, Dublin. The awards event which is in its second year with a new group of fifty recipients highlights the growing and active use of the Irish Language across a wide range of professions and industries.
Ms de Brún said:
"Today's awards ceremony will showcase and celebrate the achievements of a diverse range of businesses and entrepreneurs who operate though the medium of Irish as well as use the language as a marketing tool. Having successfully campaigned for Irish to be adopted as a working language of the European Union, I am honoured to have been asked to participate in the awards event which was initiated by daily newspaper Lá Nua to encourage entrepreneurship among Irish speakers. The awards ceremony's list of nominations proves that the Irish language can be brought to life in daily commerce." ENDS
