Adams calls on support from Ulster Hurling fans

26 June, 2007

He said,

"Antrim won the Ulster Hurling title in great style, and in terrible weather conditions, this year. The county will now return to the premier hurling competition in the country and Antrim and Ulster Hurling will compete again this year for the Liam McCarthy cup."

"The next stage of that journey will be on Saturday 30th June when Antrim will play against Clare in Casement Park, Belfast. It is an occasion of great significance. I would like to call upon all Ulster Gaels to rally behind the Antrim team this weekend.

"To all those, from whatever background them come, who wish to see the spectacle of the fastest amateur field sport in the world, cuirim céad míle fáilte romhaibh - I extend you a warm, west Belfast welcome to Casement Park."
