Sinn Féin holds DUP discussions

3 July, 2007

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams today led a party delegation to meet with DUP leader Ian Paisley and other senior members of his party.

Speaking after the meeting Mr Adams said:

"Today's initial discussion is the first in what I hope will become a series of meetings between the DUP and ourselves as the political institutions bed down and develop further.

"Sinn Féin are committed to seeing these institutions working effectively for the people who elect us and we will continue to engage with all parties as we collectively face up to and tackle the many challenges which have to be overcome." ENDS
