Sinn Féin welcome proposed regeneration of former torture centre.
West Belfast MLA Paul Maskey has welcomed the announcement that the former RUC torture centre and surveillance outpost in Andersonstown will now become redeveloped.
"I welcome this move and see it as a sign of progress for a better future. The former RUC station in Andersonstown was renowned for abuses against the people of West Belfast and was used to dominate a working class community.
"We now have a unique opportunity to use this prime location to advance the regeneration of the area. I would strongly urge the developers, the Carville group to consult with the local community and I welcome their statement."
