Sinn Féin to attend National Ploughing Championships
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams MP, along with party colleagues Martin Ferris TD, Cllr Gerry McHugh, Cllr Joe Reilly and EU candidates Bairbre de Brún and David Cullinane will attend the National Ploughing Championships in County Meath tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd September. Sinn Féin will have a stall at the event for the first time ever and many party representatives will be in attendance over the three days.
Speaking on the eve of the event Deputy Ferris said:
"I am delighted to be able to have the opportunity to visit Ireland's main agricultural event. Apart from providing the opportunity to keep up to date with the latest developments within farming, it is also a great social event and a chance to meet people involved in all aspects of the sector and in rural life in general. I look forward also to discussing some of the main issues confronting the farming sector such as the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, rural housing, and proposals to mean test farmers whose children are applying for third level education grants."ENDS
