Sinn Féin appeal to young people to respect Woodside Forest - McCann MLA

5 September, 2007

Sinn Féin MLAs Jennifer Mc Cann and Paul Butler and local councillor Sam Baker have appealed for Woodside Forest to be respected this weekend after a litany of abuses in the West Belfast beauty spot.

Speaking from the Assembly today, Ms Mc Cann said,

"After weeks of widespread anti-social behaviour in the area I am appealing to young people to use their better judgement and stay away from the Woodside Forest this weekend.

"I am asking for young people to not indulge in binge drinking and show respect for the community.

"The PSNI also have an obligation to address this seroius problem spot and to prove to the community that they have the interests of all at heart." ENDS
