Community in shock at tragic death of young Patrick Breen

Drumquin Sinn Fein Councillor Frankie Donnelly has extended his deepest sympathy to the family of 11-year-old Patrick Breen who died in such tragic circumstances during a training session with Michael Cusak under-13 GAA team in the Tyrone village of Drumquin last night.

The local Councillor said,

"I would firstly like to extend my deepest sympathy to the parents, brothers, sisters and large extended family circle of young Patrick.

"The community of Dregish/Drumquin and throughout the entire West Tyrone area have been completely numbed by the terrible tragedy that has befallen the Breen family and the plight of the family is utmost in the thoughts and prayers of everyone at this time.

"The Breen family are no strangers to tragedy and this has made the situation all the more heart rendering.

"I would like to commend the valiant efforts of Michael Cusak club members and emergency medical staff who tried everything to save young Patrick's life. and given the many other children attending the training who witnessed this tragedy last night, I would also like to commend the endeavours of the local club and local primary schools to be fully responsive to the emotional trauma that they have underwent."
