"Excellent news" regarding Irish language film for possible Oscar nomination

Sinn Féin spokesperson on the Irish language Francie Brolly MLA has said that he is extremely pleased to hear that the Irish language film Ríthe/ Kings has been included as a possible Oscar nomination.

Speaking today from the Assembly, Mr Brolly said,

"Firstly I would like to express my congratulations to Tom Collins, Colm Meaney et al on this excellent achievement.

"This is the first ever Irish language film included for possible nomination.

"I am very proud to hear that this film may be nominated and that the Irish language is in the competition for an Oscar.

"This was an All-Ireland project with support from the Irish Film Board and the Irish Broadcasting Fund in the six counties and show cases the Irish language on the big screen for all around the world."
