Make your voice heard – public consultation on Programme for Government
Sinn Féin Foyle MLA Martina Anderson has said that the public consultation in the Guildhall this week is an opportunity for the people of Derry to demand more resources for the city.
Ms Anderson said:
"Government officials will be in the Guildhall on Thursday evening as part of a public consultation into the Programme for Government, Budget an Investment Strategy.
"This is all part of the equality proofing of government which Sinn Féin secured and the results of this consultation will be used to inform later resource allocations.
"Therefore, we need to be making our case now and I would encourage as many groups and individuals as possible to attend this consultation.
"We need to be leaving the officials in no doubt about the needs of this city.
"That means - because of the new equality commitments - those needs can no longer be ignored when it comes to the allocation of resources.
"Derry has been ignored for too long when it comes to government investment but we now have the potential to begin changing that and I urge everyone to seize that opportunity by coming along on Thursday and making your voice heard." ENDS
