US investors to visit Derry
A delegation of high-powered US investors will visit Derry next month as part a major economic conference, Foyle Sinn Féin MLA Martina Anderson has revealed.
"As has been widely publicised, a number of senior business executives from US companies and other influential figures will be visiting the North next month to explore investment opportunities," Ms. Anderson said.
"I felt it was extremely important that these investors also came to Derry to see first hand the potential that this city has to offer so I invited them to come here and I am delighted to say that they have agreed to send a delegation on May 10.
"The delegation will include the Director of Investment from the office of the New York Comptroller which is already responsible for the Emerald Fund - a $150 million investment package for the north of Ireland.
"I am certain that this intervention represents the greatest chance in generations for the North West to showcase this region to investors who have the potential to revolutionise our economic fortunes and we need to seize it with both hands.
"I will also be contacting local stakeholders over the coming days to brief them on our plans and invite them to attend this important event." ENDS
