Praise for Fire Service following Newry city Fire
Newry and Mourne Sinn Féin Councillor Charlie Casey has praised Fire-fighters who tackled a massive blaze in the Monaghan Street area of Newry on Sunday.
The Councillor said that the efforts of Fire Service Personnel to ensure that the fire at a vacant building was brought under control had been tremendous. Premises and homes around the blaze area were evacuated.
Councillor Casey said:
"By all accounts it was an extremely difficult fire and there was a great fear that it would spread.
"The main thing is that there are no reports of anybody having been injured." ENDS
