Parker and Maskey to attend official opening of Finaghy Crossroads Group Office
Balmoral Sinn Féin representative Vincent Parker has complimented the ongoing work of the Finaghy Crossroads Group and said that tonight's official opening of their new office ensures that the good work will continue in the future.
Mr Parker was speaking in advance of tonight's official opening of the Group's new premises at No. 3 Finaghy Road North, and the official switch on of the areas Christmas lights.
Vincent Parker will be attending along with Party colleague and South Belfast MLA Alex Maskey.
Mr Parker said,
"The Finaghy Crossroads Groups has been instrumental in helping to bring all sections of the community in the Finaghy area together. The members of the Group have worked tirelessly for the betterment of the whole community in this area.
"I would congratulate them on their hard work throughout the year. The fact that they are now in a position to officially open an office in the area is a testament to their hard work. The opening of this office also ensures that the work of the Finaghy Crossroads Group will continue in the future.
Speaking about the official 'switching-on' of the Christmas lights in the area Mr Parker said,
"It is unfortunate that in the past the Finaghy Crossroads area has seen its share of sectarian trouble. The erection of these Christmas lights, and the holding of an official 'switch-on' should be seen as an attempt to bring the whole community together and to foster a community spirit. Such acts can only be of benefit to the whole community".
