Adams flatly contradicts Taoiseach’s assertion that passing budget is the imperative
Following the Taoiseach’s statement this evening, Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams said he flatly contradicted the Taoiseach’s assertion that the imperative was to get the Budget passed.
He called for a General Election now to allow the people to have their say.
Gerry Adams said:
“I totally disagree with the Taoiseach’s assertion that the imperative is to get the Budget passed.
“The Budget should be suspended.
“The Taoiseach should call an election now and put his proposals before the electorate alongside all the other parties who can also put forward their budgetary proposals.
“In this way citizens can have a say and a new Government can be mandated to proceed as the people decide.”
