Bed closures at James Connolly Hospital disgraceful – Ó Caoláin
Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD has described as “disgraceful” the proposed closure of 28 beds in James Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown.
Deputy Ó Caoláin said:
"Health Minister James Reilly last year stated that the impact of the closure of hospital beds would lead to more patients suffering needlessly on trolleys and more patients waiting at home in pain due to cancelled operations.
“He has since changed his tune and is now presiding over the widespread closure of hospital beds.
“We in Sinn Féin will continue to challenge this dismantling of our public health services. Unless a halt is put to these closures patients face a fearful winter in our hospitals.”
