Association can usher in a new era of North/South co-operation - McElduff
Sinn Féin MLA Barry McElduff has said that the meeting of the North/South Inter-Parliamentary Association’s Executive Committee tomorrow would be the final one prior to the first plenary session of the all-Ireland body on October 12th.
The West Tyrone MLA said:
“This meeting will finalise the agenda and other arrangements for the first ever plenary session of this all-Ireland Parliamentary body on October 12th.
“The North/South Inter-Parliamentary Association will provide a unique opportunity for MLAs and TDs to discuss ways of maximising co-operation on a whole range of economic and social issues.
“Economic issues will be to the fore of the Association’s discussions and ways in which we can tackle issues that are of benefit to all of the Irish people, North and South.
“The Association will be made up of MLAs and TDs from all parties and I believe that this can usher in a new era of North/South co-operation that will reap dividends for all the people of the island.”
