Molloy to attend Tunisian Conference on Palestine
Sinn Féin Mid-Ulster MP Francie Molloy travels to Tunisia today to attend a conference, “Monitoring of the Palestinian Political and Legal Issue, in light of Israel’s aggression on Gaza”, examining the situation in Palestine.
Before leaving for Tunisia Francie Molloy said:
“I look forward to participating in this prestigious conference under the auspices of the Center for Strategic Studies for North Africa in Tunisia.
“Given the situation in Gaza it is important that the plight of the Palestinian people is addressed by the international community.
“This conference will be attended by over two hundred lawyers and experts in international relations and human rights activists from all over the world, as well as a number of politicians from Palestine, the Arab World and the West.
“"Israel's violations of international humanitarian law with the expansion of settlements and the construction of apartheid walls and its impunity over such gross violations must end.
“I hope that this conference will focus the spotlight of international attention on Israel’s continued aggression in Gaza and contribute to the search for a permanent resolution of this long running conflict.”
