Ó hÓisín welcomes commitment on Roe Valley Country Park angling facilities
Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Ó hÓisín has welcomed a commitment that angling facilities for people with disabilities at Roe Valley Country Park will be repaired as a matter of urgency.
The East Derry MLA said;
"Roe Valley Country Park is one of the major visitor attractions in the Limavady area and is used 350,00 visitors each year.
"In recent times, however, concerns have been raised over the maintenance of the paths throughout the park, particularly on the western bank.
"The damage to the angling stand for people with disabilities is also a major cause of concern and the local community want to see it repaired as soon as possible.
"I asked Environment Minister Mark H Durkan what he plans to do about the angling facilities for people with disabilities and the wider problems of the upkeep of footpaths in the park.
"The minister responded and said he will ensure that the angling facilities are repaired as a matter of urgency and said he was committed to attracting more visitors to the park.
"I will continue to engage with the minister to ensure this work is carried out and look forward to the repair of these facilities."
