Dublin City Council must respond to road safety concerns –Councillor Denise Mitchell
Councillor Denise Mitchell has welcomed the new road safety measures in Woodlawn estate, Santry.
Speaking today she said:
“After many months of campaigning by myself and local residents I’m delighted to say that Dublin City Council has erected road safety signs in Woodlawn estate.
Unfortunately we have the situation where we have an industrial estate nearby and HGV Lorries were mistaking Woodlawn for this.
This has led to many near misses and damage to property belonging to local residents.
Residents had very obvious concerns for the children living nearby.
She further added,
“Woodlawn is not a unique situation and there are many estates the length and breadth of the country that are lacking proper traffic safety measures.
Often representation for signs, speed limits and ramps are only made after an incident has occurred and in some cases this is too late.”
