Shock at slaughter in Sousse
Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane has expressed her shock at the slaughter of holidaymakers in Sousse in Tunisia last Friday.
Ms Ruane said,
“I was shocked to hear of so many casualties in the attack on tourists in Sousse, Tunisia on Friday and I extend my sympathy to all the families bereaved as a result of this incident.
“The vast majority of Muslims here and across the world have no sympathy with the Islamic State group as has been witnessed in the response to the attack from the people in Tunisia.
“There is an onus on to reach out to progressive and representative voices to address the issue which allow this sort of extremism to exist.
“We must ensure that we create conditions where conflict can be resolved through dialogue.”
