Beaumont Hospital need to secure alternative location for Taxi Rank -Cllr Denise Mitchell

7 July, 2015 - by Denise Mitchell

Beaumont-Donaghmeade Councillor Denise Mitchell is calling on the management of Beaumont hospital to liaise with Dublin City Council to sort out any issues in relation to the Taxi Rank to and to secure an alternative location.

She said,

“I raised this issue in a question to management at last night’s council meeting as there has been a lot of confusion among the various stakeholders about what is exactly going on with the rank.

There appears to have been a number of planning issues around the current rank which resulted in Dublin City Council issuing a letter to the hospital requesting cessation of the rank.

This situation is not satisfactory for the nearby residents, the taxi drivers, visitors to the hospital and especially not the patients”

She further added,

“I am calling on the management of the hospital and the Dublin City Council planning department to come together and sort the problem out.

Beaumont Hospital cannot be without a taxi rank and if the current one is not suitable than an alternative needs to be found and the necessary work carried out to get it up and operating as soon as possible.”
