All offensive flags should be removed - McMullan
Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan has said all offensive flags should be condemned and removed.
Mr McMullan said;
"The erection of Nazi flags in the Glenfield estate in Carrickfergus rightly sparked condemnation and I welcome the fact that these offensive flags have been removed.
"However, during the public discussion on these flags everyone was queuing up to condemn the Nazi flag while ignoring the fact there are also loyalist paramilitary flags in the same area.
"It seems that unionist public representatives are unwilling to challenge the erection of flags celebrating and promoting loyalist murder gangs.
"Their silence on these loyalist flags gives cover to these murderous organisations who are still active and steeped in criminality.
"Instead of selective condemnation, unionist public representatives and community leaders need to step up to the mark and ensure that all offensive racist and sectarian flags are removed."
