British created budgetary crisis
Sinn Féin chief negotiator Martin McGuinness MLA has said that Sinn Fein is entering these talks to achieve a resolution of the outstanding issues and a workable budget.
Mr McGuinness said,
“In order for these talks to be successful there is an onus on all parties to demonstrate creativity, imagination and generosity, particularly on the two governments.
“The British government created the current budgetary crisis and must play a full and positive part in resolving this issue so that the Executive has a workable budget that will defend front line services and protect the most vulnerable in society.
“The Irish government too must act as a co-guarantor to the Good Friday and other agreements to support the full implementation of commitments made including its commitment on the A5.”
