Cllr Mc Hugh welcomes report on proposed national children's hospital
Speaking today Cllr McHugh said:
"While broadly speaking I welcome the report, a build and a construction job of this size will have a major effect on the daily lives of residents and staff.
"There needs to be a traffic management plan in place, with An Bord Pleanála ensuring that the developer of the project isn continuously monitoring traffic. It must also identify a person or a company to monitor traffic throughout the build.
“Staff car parking at the Red Cow Luas stop needs to
be fully implemented and extra space made avail to facilitate staff and
visitors.
“40 million was wasted on the Mater hospital site and with
17 million spent so far on the St James site. We
cannot continue wasting tax payer’s money's
“Let us address the residents’ fears the worker's fears and the traffic problems and get on with the building of a first class children's hospital for the future children of our country.
