McCann condemns racist attack at church

24 October, 2015 - by Fra McCann

Sinn Féin MLA Fra McCann has condemned an incident in which pigs heads were left outside a disused church in west Belfast.

Mr McCann said;
"This was a shocking incident at St Luke's Church on Northumberland Street and should be condemned.
"This is a building that is used for community events and it would no doubt have been distressing to come across such a gruesome sight.
"All places of worship should be treated with respect.
"The fact that anti-Islamic slogans were written the pig's heads makes this all the more sinister and disgusting.
"There can be no place for of hate crimes in our society and all forms of sectarianism, racism and discrimination must be opposed."
