4 February, 2016 - by Oliver McMullan

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan has welcomed a £1.5 million investment in Roddensvale School in Larne.

The East Antrim MLA said;

"I visited Roddensvale School in Larne alongside Education Minister John O'Dowd for the official opening of a new extension and the announcement of further expansion plans.

"The new £578,000 extension, delivered by Minister O'Dowd, will house classrooms, a dining area, a hygiene room and other new facilities.

"This new extension will add to the excellent facilities and enhance the high quality of education in Roddensvale.

"During our visit to the school, Minister O'Dowd also cut the sod to begin work on the schools' new hydrotherapy pool.

"When completed, this will help improve the quality of life of pupils at the school.

"I have been campaigning for more facilities for this school for many years and I’m pleased to see this funding from the minister in place.

"I want to commend Principal John Madden for his dedicated work to deliver a first-class education for all pupils at the school and wish him and all the staff and pupils every success in the future."
