Irish medium education seminar an opportunity to progress sector - McCorley
Sinn Féin Irish language spokesperson Rosie McCorley has called on those interested in Irish Language education to attend a seminar in the new Crumlin Irish language family centre, Ionad Teaghlaigh Ghleann Darach on Friday 12th February.
Ms McCorley said,
“This is a great opportunity for those involved in Irish medium education to come together to discuss the way forward.
“More and more parents are choosing to educate their children through the medium of Irish and research has shown that those children who do so benefit immensely from learning the language.
“I welcome the fact that Education Minister John O’Dowd will be in attendance as will be several other key speakers.
“The seminar which will run from 11am to 1pm can help devise strategies that will see the sector grow over the coming years and highlight some of the difficulties currently being experienced by Irish language schools.
"I would encourage all those with an interest in Irish medium education to attend”
